Online Play Near Playtime Casino Wasaga Beach
Online casino play in Ontario runs on its own set of rules, separate from Playtime Casino Wasaga Beach on Joseph Drive. This page records those rules as the province sets them, starting with the market's opening on April 4, 2022.

How the market is set up
The regulated online gambling market in Ontario launched on April 4, 2022. The work is split between two bodies: iGaming Ontario conducts and manages online gambling by private operators, while the AGCO regulates it. Only that online market is covered on this page, not the slot machines and e-tables at 15 Joseph Drive.
In Ontario, a private online casino is legal only when two conditions are met: it holds AGCO registration, and it holds an operating agreement signed with iGaming Ontario. Neither the registration nor the agreement suffices by itself; a site must have both. OLG.ca is not among those private sites. It is the government-run online casino of Ontario.
Looking a site up
Regulated online gambling sites appear on an official list: the directory iGaming Ontario publishes at igamingontario.ca. Before any money goes in, a site can be searched there by name. The player must then meet two conditions. Online play is 19+, and under Ontario law no one under 19 may enter a gaming site, land-based or online, except staff at work. Play is also permitted only while the player is physically in Ontario.
For cottage owners with a home in another province, and for visitors from elsewhere, the test is location during play, not address.
BetGuard and its limits
BetGuard (betguard.ca) is operated by iGaming Ontario. With it, a person aged 19 or over can block access to all of Ontario's regulated online gambling sites in a single step, including OLG.ca. Casinos visited in person fall outside its scope, so it does not stop anyone from entering the casino on Joseph Drive.
Self-exclusion at that floor is handled through My PlayBreak, the OLG program that covers casinos across Ontario. Choosing a break of 3 or 6 months, or of 1 to 5 years, blocks entry to all Ontario casinos, and the break cannot be cut short.
Where the paid links are
Paid links appear on the home page only. Each one is marked Ad: a button in the menu, a block below the first screen and a block near the end. They lead to one private online casino partner, which pays this guide a commission. The partner is not named because it can change.
The partner is not checked by this guide. Readers can compare any site, including that one, against the official directory, described above, that lists Ontario's regulated online gambling sites. Links to help services and to the province are never paid.
Questions from the off-season
Does a Quebec address rule out Ontario sites during a stay in Wasaga Beach?
Where someone lives is not the deciding factor. Ontario sites allow online play only for those aged 19 or over, and only when the player is located inside Ontario at the time.
Which list shows the regulated Ontario sites?
At igamingontario.ca, the iGaming Ontario directory serves as the official record of regulated Ontario online gambling sites.
Would a BetGuard exclusion stop entry at the casino on Joseph Drive?
BetGuard would not prevent entry there. Its reach is all of Ontario's regulated online gambling sites, including OLG.ca, and it does not extend to casinos people visit in person. Being barred from Ontario casinos happens through OLG's self-exclusion program, My PlayBreak.
